A very old adaptation but one with an fairly complete script and some well cast actors.
Summary: Never before aired in the US, this classic 1971 BBC miniseries about two sisters with two very different approaches to love is now available on DVD. Marianne and Elinor Dashwood find themselves in a perilous position then their father passes away, leaving them, their mother and younger sisters destitute and forced to find a new home. Marianne soon falls in love with the dashing Willoughby, who literally sweeps her off her feet but harbors a few secrets. Meanwhile Elinor nurses a private passion for Edward Ferrars and struggles with hope and disappointment on her own. Will the sisters learn that sense must mix with sensibility if they are to find happiness with the ones they love?
